If all you want to buy is gold
Watches, rings and diadems
Hang like flowers from their stems
With rubies, emeralds and pearls
To adorn the chosen girls
And boys of wealthy families
Who wander through here as they please
Pointing at a passing piece
To decorate a distant niece
And all the while the sellers smile
Like nimble-fingered crocodiles
